S. FACCHINI: A new species of Eucolliuris LIEBKE, 1931 from Africa (Coleoptera: Carabidae)
A new species of Eucolliuris LIEBKE, 1931 (Coleoptera: Carabidae), E. flavomarginata from Zambia, is here described and the habitus of the new taxon is illustrated. It is the 30th species of this genus known so far and the 21st species known from Africa.
L. TOLEDANO: Notes on new and poorly known Chinese Bembidiina (Coleoptera: Carabidae)
The examination of male paratypes of Bembidion parepum JEDLIČKA, 1933 (Coleoptera: Carabidae) from China confirms that this species belongs to the subgenus Ocydromus CLAIRVILLE, 1806 sensu TOLEDANO (2008a) and more precisely to the B. deletum SERVILLE, 1821 species-group (subgenus Peryphanes JEANNEL, 1941 auct.). Bembidion parepum is redescribed here and its male genitalia are described for the first time. Two Chinese Bembidion species, B. (Ocydromus) magrinii (China, Qinghai) and B. (Ocydromus) heineri (China, Xinjiang) (both belonging to the O. straussi species- group) are described as new. The male genitalia of Amerizus (Tiruka) baxiensis DEUVE, 1998 are described for the first time and a new monospecific species-group is proposed for Amerizus (Tiruka) wrzecionkoi DEUVE, 1998.
G. WEWALKA: New species, new records and taxonomic updates on Microdytes BALFOUR-BROWNE, 1946 (Coleoptera: Dytiscidae)
Seven new species of the genus Microdytes BALFOUR-BROWNE, 1946 (Coleoptera: Dytiscidae) are described: M. feryi sp.n., M. helenae sp.n. and M. shaverdoae sp.n. from Myanmar, M. heineri sp.n. from Thailand and China, M. paoloi sp.n., M. pederzanii sp.n. from Thailand, and M. rocchii sp.n. from Laos. Microdytes holzmanni WEWALKA & WANG, 1998 is synonymized with M. shunichii SATÔ, 1995. New records of other species of Microdytes are provided.
B.J. van VONDEL: Description of Haliplus larvae from Lebanon (Coleoptera: Haliplidae)
The third instar larvae of Haliplus kulleri VONDEL and H. maculatus MOTSCHULSKY (Coleoptera: Haliplidae) are described from Lebanon. The first and second instar larvae of Haliplus kulleri or maculatus are described although the two species could not be separated. Haliplus maculatus is reported from Lebanon for the first time. Chaetotaxy of legs is discussed.
H.V. SHAVERDO & R.E. ROUGHLEY †: Adephagous water beetles of Ontario and western Quebec, Canada (Coleoptera: Dytiscidae, Haliplidae, Noteridae)
Eighty-seven species of Dytiscidae, ten species of Haliplidae, and two species of Noteridae were collected from 37 sampling stations in Ontario and western Quebec during an excursion in August, 2002. First records are provided for one species from Ontario, two species from Quebec, and one species from the Boreal Shield ecozone. In accordance with the present study and data from the literature, the list of aquatic Adephaga of Ontario contains 161 species of Dytiscidae, 17 species of Haliplidae, and two species of Noteridae; 149 species of Dytiscidae, 18 species of Haliplidae, and two species of Noteridae are known from Quebec. For the first time, the fauna of the adephagous water beetles of Manitoulin Island has been explored; and 37 species are reported from eight sampling stations. A taxonomic problem of Oreodytes laevis (FALL) is revealed. New data on bionomics of most of the species are presented.
M. BROJER & M.A. JÄCH: Update on the hydraenid fauna of Costa Rica, with descriptions of six new species (Coleoptera: Hydraenidae)
Six new species of Hydraena KUGELANN (Coleoptera: Hydraenidae) are described: H. esquinita, H. lagamba, H. lascrucensis, H. pajarita, H. pilimera, and H. sanagergelyae. Hydraena brevis SHARP, 1882, H. pontequula PERKINS, 1980 and Ochthebius mesoamericanus PERKINS, 1980 are recorded for the first time from Costa Rica. A key to the species of the Hydraenidae of Costa Rica is provided.
M.A. JÄCH & A. SKALE: Annotated checklist of the Hydraenidae of Armenia (Coleoptera: Hydraenidae)
The hydraenid fauna of Armenia is updated based mainly on the examination of the collection of S.M. Yablokov-Khnzorian (1904–1996), as well as on specimens collected by H. Shaverdo & H. Schillhammer in 2001 and by K. Hadulla in 2009. A total of 37 named species is recorded from Armenia, 24 of them for the first time. Two unidentified Armenian species are also reported. A lectotype is designated for Limnebius setifer KHNZORIAN, 1962. Hydraena armeniaca JANSSENS, 1968 and Limnebius setifer KHNZORIAN, 1962 are reported from Turkey for the first time; their aedeagi are illustrated. Haenydra terraevastatae JÄCH, 1988 is here synonymized formally with Hydraena khnzoriani JANSSENS, 1968.
V. PUTHZ: Steninen aus dem Natmataung National Park, Myanmar (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae)
Ten species of the staphylinid subfamily Steninae are recorded from the Natmataung National Park, Chin State, Myanmar. Six of these described as new: Dianous silvicola, D. silvicultrix, Stenus feldmanni, S. harry, S. luteogutta and S. vexativus. Two species are recorded from Myanmar for the first time.
H. SCHILLHAMMER: A review of Peucoglyphus BERNHAUER (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Staphylininae)
The genus Peucoglyphus BERNHAUER, 1926 (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Staphylininae) is reviewed, including comparative notes for closely related genera. The types species of the genus, Peucoglyphus corporaali BERNHAUER, 1926, is redescribed. Three species are described as new: P. balkei (Indonesia: West Papua), P. celebensis (Indonesia: Sulawesi) and P. solomonicus (Solomon Islands).
H. SCHILLHAMMER: Old and new Staphylinini from the Palearctic and Oriental Regions (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Staphylininae)
The paper deals with new species and taxonomic changes as well as new or additional faunistic data of members of the tribe Staphylinini (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Staphylininae) from the Palearctic and Oriental Regions. Nineteen species are described as new: Actinomorphus kalimantanensis (Indonesia: Kalimantan), Algon angelikae (Myanmar), A. lisae (Laos), A. reuteri (China), Bisnius kashcheevi (Kazakhstan), B. microphthalmus (Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan), Gabrius castor (Myanmar), G. egentoides (Nepal), G. frischi (Iran, Turkmenistan), G. lackneri (Japan), G. pollux (Myanmar), G. tarasovi (Laos), Philonthus emdenoides (China), P. lisu (China), P. rougemonti (Thailand), P. sabine (China), P. taxiplagoides (Indonesia: Sulawesi), Pseudohesperus ernsti (China), Shaverdolena laosensis (Laos). Three new synonymies are proposed: Agacerus FAUVEL, 1895 (= Dorcophilonthus HAYASHI, 2000), Agacerus pectinatus FAUVEL, 1895 (= Dorcophilonthus clavicornis HAYASHI, 2000), Tasgius melanarius (HEER, 1839) (= Alapsodus bulgaricus COIFFAIT, 1971). Platydracus trimaculatus (FAUVEL, 1895) is transferred from Staphylinus LINNÉ, 1758. A lectotype is designated for Staphylinus rotundicollis MÉNÉTRIÉS, 1832, thus rendering the neotype designation for this species by SCHILLHAMMER (2003) obsolete.
U. IRMLER: New species of Caloderella BERNHAUER, 1912 from Ecuador with a key to the species (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae)
Three new species of the aleocharine genus Caloderella BERNHAUER, 1912 (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Aleocharinae) are described from Ecuador: C. mariannae, C. lobata, and C. pastazae. A key to the Neotropical species of Caloderella is provided. The ecological demands of two species are discussed.
M. MARUYAMA: Redescription of Liometoxenus paradoxus (SCRIBA) comb.n., and comments on the systematic position of Liometoxenus KISTNER, JENSEN & JACOBSON (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae)
Liometoxenus paradoxus (SCRIBA, 1868) comb.n. (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Aleocharinae), which was originally described as Myllaena from Italy and long placed in Homoeusa, is redescribed. Homoeusa obscura STILLER, 1925 is synonymised with L. paradoxus. The systematic position of Liometoxenus is discussed.

Eleven species of Staphylinidae (Coleoptera) from Turkey are described and illustrated: Astenus (Eurysunius) brachati sp.n. (Bursa), Xantholinus (Helicophallus) faginus sp.n. (Zonguldak), Liogluta alyoshai sp.n. (Gümüşhane, Rize), Atheta (Philhygra) monstruosa sp.n. (Kastamonu, Çankr), A. (Paralpinia) anatolica sp.n. (Bolu, Kastamonu, Muğla), A. meybohmi sp.n. (Balkesir; Cyprus), A. (Dimetrota) extensa sp.n. (Rize), Platyola truncata sp.n. (Mersin), Meotica hamata sp.n. (Bolu), Aleochara (Rheochara) spermophili sp.n. (Antalya, Muğla) und A. (R.) rosei sp.n. (Antalya). Xantholinus (Helicophallus) ilgazensis COIFFAIT, 1966 is redescribed.
A. KOMAREK: Taxonomic revision of Anacaena THOMSON, 1859 VIII. Taiwan (Coleoptera: Hydrophilidae)
Two new species of Anacaena THOMSON, 1859, A. jengi and A. smetanai, are described. This is the first record of the genus Anacaena in Taiwan. The male genitalia and other morphological details are illustrated. Both species are endemic to Taiwan, but morphologically very similar to other species, especially from the mainland of China. Both occur in a very wide variety of different aquatic or moist terrestrial habitats.
J. KRIKKEN: A new Kenyan species of Bolboceras KIRBY (Coleoptera: Geotrupidae: Bolboceratinae)
Four species of Bolboceras KIRBY, 1819 (Coleoptera: Geotrupidae: Bolboceratinae) have been recorded from sub-Saharan Africa. In this paper, a new species, B. kenyense, is described from Kenya. The genus is briefly characterized and a key to the Afrotropical species of Bolboceras is given.
S.A. WELLS & S. RIESE: Description of two new species of Semiotus ESCHSCHOLTZ (Coleoptera: Elateridae)
Two new species of the tropical American click beetle genus Semiotus ESCHSCHOLTZ (Coleoptera: Elateridae) are described: S. marciae from Ecuador and S. baumanni from Bolivia. A modified key is provided for both species.
H. SCHMID: Ein neuer Prioninae aus Französisch Guayana (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae)
Callipogon (Orthomegas) maryae (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) is described from French Guiana. It is closely related with C. (O.) cinnamomeum (LINNÉ, 1758).

Two new species of the tribe Clytini (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae), Amyipunga barbarae sp.n., and Ygapema michelleae sp.n., are described from Peru (Junín Province).
J. RHEINHEIMER: Naupactini in Französisch Guayana (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Entiminae)
The tribe Naupactini (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Entiminae) is represented by eight genera in French Guiana. A key for the identification of the genera and species is offered. A new species Naupactus viridepunctatus sp.n. is described from this country. All species of this genus as well as examples of the other genera are illustrated.

A new species of Sibinia GERMAR (Coleoptera: Curculionidae), S. sarmatica, belonging to the subgenus Dichotychius BEDEL and related to S. sodalis GERMAR is described from eastern Ukraine.

Aspidapion (Koestlinia) motschulskyi (HOCHHUTH, 1847) (comb.n., stat.rev.) is removed from synonymy with Aspidapion (Koestlinia) aeneum (FABRICIUS, 1775), redescribed and figured. A lectotype is designated for Apion motschulskyi HOCHHUTH, 1847. Aspidapion motschulskyi is recorded from Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Cyprus, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. Taphrotopium (s.str.) cuprifulgens (SCHILSKY, 1906) is recorded from Turkey for the first time.
L. BARTOLOZZI, A. MANTILLERI & A. SFORZI: Description of a new species of Rhynchoneus SHARP, 1895 from French Guiana (Coleoptera: Brentidae)
Rhynchoneus giuglarisi n.sp. (Coleoptera: Brentidae) is described from French Guiana. It is the second known species of this peculiar genus. Males of Rhynchoneus exhibit unusual ventral appendages beneath head and prothorax. The new species, together with Estenorhinus flaccus (MEYER), is unique within Brentidae due to the long and downwards pointing postocular expansions in the males. The biology of the new species is still unknown.
T. CLAYHILLS: Coleoptera species new to Finland (1) (Coleoptera)
Some 20 Coleoptera species new to Finland are presented, mostly based on my own collections during the years 2001–2008. Some of these are also based on old misidentifications which are straightened out here. Bembidion obtusum AUDINET-SERVILLE, Catops fuliginosus ERICHSON, Phyllodrepa vilis ERICHSON, Euplectus kirbii ssp. kirbii DENNY, Atheta castanoptera (MANNERHEIM), Gabrius piliger MULSANT & REY, Philonthus alpinus EPPELSHEIM, Ernobius pini (STURM), Epuraea melanocephala (MARSHAM), Meligethes subaeneus STURM, M. matronalis AUDISIO & SPORNRAFT, Glischrochilus grandis (TOURNIER), Cryptophagus intermedius BRUCE, Enicmus testaceus (STEPHENS), Psylliodes chalcomera (ILLIGER), Bagous claudicans BOHEMAN, Ceutorhynchus pectoralis WEISE, C. arquatus (HERBST), C. campestris GYLLENHAL and Hylastes attenuatus ERICHSON are reported as new to the Finnish fauna. Short faunistic data are provided. Also the long mixing of Corticaria serrata (PAYKULL) and the newly described C. subamurensis SALUK is pointed out.
E. GEISER: Neue und bemerkenswerte Käferfunde aus dem Bundesland Salzburg (Österreich) (Coleoptera)
Faunistical data of eleven rare or remarkable species from the province of Salzburg (Austria) are provided. Five species are recorded from the province of Salzburg for the first time: Clanoptilus elegans (OLIVIER), Calitys scabra (THUNBERG), Amphotis marginata (F.), Lyctus pubescens PANZER, Podagrica fuscicornis (L.). One species of Chrysomelidae, Luperomorpha xanthodera FAIRMAIRE, is recorded from Austria for the first time.
R. SCHUH, R. CALDARA, I.S. PLONSKI, E. GEISER & M.A. JÄCH: Bemerkenswerte Käferfunde aus Österreich (XVIII) und Bemerkungen zum plötzlichen Populationsrückgang mehrerer Wasserkäfer-Arten (Coleoptera)
Faunistic data of seven rare or little known species from Austria are provided. One of these species, Miarus abeillei DESBROCHERS DES LOGES (Curculionidae), is recorded from Austria for the first time. The first detailed records for Meloe mediterraneus MÜLLER (Meloidae) and Timarcha pratensis (DUFTSCHMID) (Chrysomelidae) from Austria are provided. New provincial records: Dytiscidae: Hydroporus kraatzii SCHAUM (Salzburg), Dasytidae: Trichoceble memnonia KIESENWETTER (Oberösterreich). A sudden population decline concerning several species of water beetles (Helophorus aquaticus L., H. brevipalpis BEDEL, H. griseus HERBST (Helophoridae), Ochthebius gibbosus GERMAR, O. granulatus MULSANT, O. melanescens DALLA TORRE and O. metallescens ROSENHAUER (Hydraenidae)) in Austria is reported, and possible reasons are discussed.
